Re: Curl Error (6) when trying to install a game

Bill, the screenshot in your original post says 'Couldn't resolve host name'. Having re-read that post though, you say this error occurs midway through the download process, which suggests (to me, and I'm not an networking expert), that the error is caused by a call the download makes to some other source.

Unfortunately, much as I'd like to resolve this for you, this is way outside my zone of knowledge and I could end up causing even more grief if I tried to go into areas that I have no knowledge/experience of.

Thanks greygit1. But unfortunately I'm not sure what I am supposed to get from that?

@BugPilot

Have you checked you are using the latest version of DCS updater?

Take a look at this link https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/

Re: Curl Error (6) when trying to install a game

@Dan_the_Van  yes, I was.  I wiped my computer and tried to install DCS with only windows 11 installed.  The reason I am thinking it maybe a plusnet thing is that it works ok from behind a VPN.  The vast majority of DCS players get updates etc ok.  As did I until recently.  And the only thing that has changed is I have upgraded FTTC to FTTP.  There are a scattering of others with same problem going back a few years here and there.  For me, it happens with the larger updates mid-way through, almost like a timed out thing.

Thanks for your input.
