Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Hi @djh22 that can be normal as it can take a few days to stop working. If it's still on by Tuesday do get back to us and we'll do some digging. - Adam

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

I'm unsure what else we could do as we've done "our bit" effectively by removing access from our side, I'll have a chat with someone about that today so please leave it with me and I'll come back to you about it.

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Thanks Adam,I don't mind so long as I don't get charged, but to be honest now that the Rugby has finished I doubt if I'll need to use it.

Not a complaint as PN have been extremely good to me over the years , but the point of interest is the system - if PN have cancelled my access to the service then why am I still able to use it ?

Cheers,

Del.

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Thanks Adam, I've tried logging in to BT vision via the BT website but it just refers me back to Plusnet.

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Hey @djh22, I'm going to send an email to the back office whom deals with the BT side of things. Could you pop me a private message with your BT ID please and I can get this emailed off for you?

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

I took out a 24 month contract for full fibre internet because Plusnet offer cheap BT Sport.
I have 14 months contract remaining and you have cancelled BT Sport (5th July).
You, enticed me, dangled BT Sport in front of me, baited me.
I signed up for 24 months (no shorter option with full fibre).
Now you pull away BT Sport and leave me, stuck, with a rubbish/uncompetitive deal.
I have been conned, robbed, cheated. Plusnet have made no effort to sweeten the bitter pill of losing BT Sport.
Plusnet has offered me nothing to mitigate my loss of service.
I am appalled at Plusnet's poor treatment of customers.
AND please don't tell me that BT Sport wasn't part of the contract, I know that.
I know that 'not being part of the contract' is because it was, always, only bait.
BT Sport was always just an enticement, a trap.

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Sorry to see this Peter, please bear in mind BT Sports is coming to an end in general so it's not the case that we'll no longer provide access to it.

I understand your frustration though and get it won't be welcome news. I can see there's a complaint open with our high level escalations team so someone will be picking that up and contacting you soon.

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Just to follow up on this, can anyone please confirm whether this change annuls a long term contract?

Similarly to Peter, my contract has time to run and ends in February 2024. I'm now prevented from signing up to a combined broadband/TV service (BT or EE) that offers the re-incarnated BT sport channels (TNT sports) without, presumably, incurring a penalty?

I'm a long term Plusnet customer and the service has been outstanding. I would love to stay. However there appears to be a fundamental unfairness in these changes, without providing at least some option to customer.

It's deeply regrettable that the service couldn't have continued seemelessly to TNT sports.

Any help appreciated. Thank you, Anthony.

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

I too am in the same position as Peter, with 11 months left to run on my contract and less than helpful staff on the phone. Would have to pay almost £200 to leave early. As plusnet is a subsidary of BT, is there no chance of getting access to BT sport app as with EE?

Re: End of BT Sport confusion

Unfortunately due to the BT Sport App is an add-on and isn't a part of the contract, so with us stopping the BT Sport service, we are not breaking any contracts etc so we are unable to waive and Early Termination Charges.
