FTTP Availability on City Fibre lines (Private Road)

Hi all,

This may be the wrong section, if so apologies. Could you please point me in the right direction/point of contact for this enquiry.

I'm a currently Plusnet customer with FTTC, with the cabinet being on a green box on a public road around 50m away.

I recently moved into a flat on a private road and have learned that CityFibre have laid the lines on this road and some ISPs can use these, with Vodafone being the recommended ISP, and Plusnet not being one of them.

I have contacted City Fibre in the first instance a handful of times and the mostly refer me to Plusnet which has prompted this forum post.

Vodafone postcode checker says my address is capable of up to 900mbps (FTTP), whilst the Plusnet one says 38mbps (FTTC) which is what I have currently.

My question is,

Could a member of the Plusnet team tell me if they can use these lines and if so, when FTTP would be available by yourselves.

Happy to provide further details to a member of staff/on my profile, couldn't find a section to add address for staff to see.

@LukeWarmDinner  Plusnet exclusively use the Openreach Fibre network for FTTP not City Fibre lines. So no FTTP from Plusnet unless Openreach install it in future.

Re: FTTP Availability on City Fibre lines (Private Road)

Thanks so much for the quick response.

Due to it being a private road with many (non-responsive) residents I do not see this changing anytime soon. I believe CityFibre will be the providers for the foreseeable future.

Out of interest, is there a website or list online where I can see which providers use which lines? Having to reach out to companies individually (often being told to by CityFibre) is rather tiresome.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@LukeWarmDinner  Have a look at this list on the ISPReview website, it may help. Click on Advanced Search (Top right of page), then select CityFibre in the Network Suppliers drop down menu and click Search Listings.

There are a lot of ISPs using Cityfibre but many are in limited geographical areas.
