I am trying to setup a Wordpress instance in my CCGI webspace. I have managed to get access to the FTP site and hosting portal but I don't seem to be able to access my website.
It has been a while since I have used the CCGI webspace. It used to be at http://cgi.hadham.plus.com but I can't even get a ping response from that address.
I have read the information about legacy ccgi websites being migrated to a new service in 2014, but nothing there seems to help.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Fixed! Go to the fix.

OK, so on further investigation is would appear that my ccgi webspace is now at: http://cgi.hadham.plus.com.c51.previewmysite.eu but I would rather not use that URL. How do I get the original URL to work?

The CGI FAQ says: "We’ll migrate any additional domains to the new platform – but you’ll need to make changes to your DNS records to point the domain at Hostopia's servers. E.g. You’d need to amend your records to make sure that the www subdomain and root of your domain is pointed correctly to the new platform (plus.com should be substituted with force9.co.uk or free-online.co.uk as appropriate).
Do this as follows: www CNAME <your_domain>. <your_domain>. A 91.136.8.9 e.g. www CNAME domainname.tld. domainname.tld. A 91.136.8.9 (note the qualifying '.' after the domain name, you will need to include this)."
It's this last bit I don't understand. Where do I need to make this configuration change to update the DNS records? Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

It definitely shouldn't be - that's the URL to a staging environment
If you're just talking about the .plus.com address then the DNS record guidance is irrelevant.
The reason you were unable to browse to http://ccgi.hadham.plus.com is because the service is in an odd state on your account at our side. I have fixed this so you should find that the address springs back to life within the next 24 hours.
