I bought one from Ali Express, it cost a LOT less than that, and it's been in circuit for a while now, doing its job perfectly.
Would definitely suggest SOME form of Battery Backup, especially if you are looking to go VOIP.

@paul_blitz does it have user replaceable batteries or is it a sealed unit or require prying tools to open ?
I've looked at the specs and tried to find the user manual, but haven't seen any mention of replacement batteries.

Good question... and I think it is sealed (otherwise I'd have had a look at the insides, and I don't remember doing so!).
Having said that, it was sufficiently cheap that you could just replace the whole thing about 6 or 7 times before hitting the same cost as the one that was in the original post! In fact it's probably cheaper than what we would pay for the batteries!

Does that front panel USB connector have any comms capability ?
On all my various UPSes, I use the USB or RS232 comms to perform a managed controlled shutdown of the connected broadband router, PCs, servers, etc, when the UPS battery has drained to the point where it will soon shut off the power, to minimise the chances of corrupted files, and to gently shut down the DSL PPP session before the line drops.
