PN DNS Servers

Had problems home networking so I ran the network trouble shooter with the following result

"Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding."

This has been ongoing for over a week now so I have now changed to cloudfare DNS with no problems showing.

Has anyone reported plusnet DNS problems please.

Re: PN DNS Servers

Not seen anything myself.  Things to consider...

  • Are you on static or dynamic IP
  • Are you using the safeguarding service
  • Are your devices configured to use the local DNS server (in the router) or PN's directly

If (as typical) it is the local router's DNS service, then the issue could be the responsiveness of the router - which router is it?  I have seen intermittent issues between the router and the DNS servers - do a nslookup using the router and it times out, change the nslookup server to PN's DNS direct and all is fine.
