Plusnet No Fluff

Just seen this advert on TV https://mediashotz.co.uk/plusnet-launches-rebrand-with-no-fluff-tv-ad/

Thought it was interesting, and the no fluff message would align with the pairing back of the brand recently.

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

@flanzm  it's possibly one of the worst Plusnet adverts I have ever seen, I don't understand what point it is trying to make. Why do they bother with stupid adverts.😫

Just what planet are these advertising agency's on - that is the biggest load of garbage I have had the misfortune to watch - even worse than the thankfully short-lived 'That'll do' strapline.

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

I wasn't so interested by the advert more the messaging. I've been thinking for a while that Plusnet was being killed off, but I now understand the plan is to make it into a no frills, simple broadband only, brand.

Understand, but I've been under that impression for a while, seeing the way services are being 'withdrawn'. Still thought the ad was naff, though.

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

I thought that this was an ad for breakfast cereal 😅

Not sure how long BT will maintain a separate value brand with all it's overheads , I expect to see Plusnets broadband only product end up as an EE essentials offering in a few years time

You can check out but you can never leave ( easily)

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

I don't think it will.  I believe the plan is BT will become business/enterprise only, and EE will become the premium consumer brand (for broadband, fixed phone via VoIP and mobile).

PlusNet will be retained as the cheap 'no frills' brand for people that don't want phone or mobile.  EE don't do anything cheap, so I very much doubt they will devalue that brand.

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

I don't usually pay much attention to TV commercials so I'd caught a glimpse of this one several times and thought it was for yet another cordless vacuum cleaner.  It was only the other day when I watched the end of it, that I realised it was for PN.

I joined PN during their spoon whittling era which didn't exactly make much more sense.

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

Maybe it was necessary to come up with an ad quickly. One with no misleading advertised prices.

Plusnets previous ads clearly stated a "from" price, but some customers were coming to this forum complaining their start price was higher. March rises were brought up as the possible excuse but that didn't make the "from" price any more correct.

Maybe all those ads were pulled and I hope they were. I could never understand how they were allowed in the first place.

Re: Plusnet No Fluff

I have given up watching any Plusnet adverts they are too confusing!

The previous tv campaign clearly!

stated that all FTTP products were on a limited availability basis and

therefore were only available to new customers

My contract ie due for renewal on Christmas Eve this year, so I am hopingf and praying that more new players come into the market in time for me to exercise a considered and reasonable choice at that time.
