Have been with Plusnet for many years, always been happy with the service. I've had the static IP address addon for most of that time so I can access the NAS away from home,
Since moving house in November, I've changed from 36Mb fibre to 72Mb fibre but the IP address has been continuously changing. For the past couple of weeks I've been checking by rebooting the router once a day or every couple of days and noting the IP address.
I've tried ringing up Plusnet support a couple of times and been told the IP address should be static. On the addon page it shows my old static IP address but that's not what is allocated.
Having looked around the forum I can see nslookup is suggested. With my IP address allocated at the moment I get:
C:\Users\xx>nslookup 147.147.20.xxx
Server: btbusinesshub
Address: 192.168.1.254
Name: xxx.20.147.147.dyn.plus.net
Address: 147.147.20.xxx
So I thought I'd try a post on the forum so that one of the Plusnet staff can take a look into it? Thanks 🙂
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@trunners that's definitely a dynamic IP! . Yours is the 2nd post I've seen recently regarding loss of static IP. Hopefully a staff member will be along shortly...

Thanks for looking into this @willcutforth
Doesn't matter if I keep the old static IP address or if it's replaced with a new static one. Go ahead and try whatever you think will help fix the issue.

nslookup on the new IP address after reboot:
C:\Users\xx>nslookup 212.159.47.xxx
Server: btbusinesshub
Address: 192.168.1.254
Name: slaw84.plus.com
Address: 212.159.47.xxx
Looks encouraging. I'll monitor it during the next few days and if it remains the same I'll come back to resolve this post.

That's a static now. The .plus.com as opposed to the .Dyn.plus.net confirms it
