Static IP

I'd like a static IP so I can port forward to my CCTV system but the add on page in control panel just keeps going to a blank screen. Please can a helpful Plusnet person enable it for me?

Re: Static IP

@martin77

If you Log In to your Members portal you'll find Static IP under add ons. There's a one off charge of £5.00.

Re: Static IP

@bmc Unfortunately, the system doesn't work - static IPs have to be requested on here.

Re: Static IP

The system does work. Log into the members centre and at the first page headed "Your Products", select change add-ons.

That takes you to the add-on page, select Static IP from there

Re: Static IP

@agedgopher See the initial post - it doesn't and hasn't for quite a while.

Re: Static IP

@jab1  I just tried again and it greyed out. Teach me a lesson for trying to be smart.

Re: Static IP

So just logged back into the member centre and went to add-ons, it's now telling me I can remove my static IP if I want. So even though it looks like it's not working with the blank page, it's actually done it 😄

Bizarre. Anyway, thanks for all the replies.

Re: Static IP

Have you paid the one-off £5.00 fee?

I stand to be corrected, but I dont think is has done it!. AFAIK the link from the member centre to the 'back end' system which allocates the static IP ( and makes the charge?) is broken.

Re: Static IP

My understanding also, @MisterW  - which is why, AIUI, requests have to be made through the forum, to enable the Help Team to manage the job.

Re: Static IP

Looking at other threads in the forum this seems to have been going on for quite some time. It can't be that infrequent a request from customers to want a static IP that wouldn't make this worth fixing, surely?

Re: Static IP

TBH its not that frequent a request. I think the automated request functionality was broken when the new billing system came in a couple of years ago.
