Re: Usenet not working

Just to add usenet on newshostings Mac app is working. Using hub 2 and high sierra on an 09 Mac Pro on fttp.
You can get older versions of the newshosting app depending on your os.

Re: Usenet not working

Anyone finding their connection times out after 5 minutes or so of inactivity? I've not changed anything in my usenet client (Thunderbird) for years, though of course it does update itself occasionally. I can't see any timeout options in the server / connection settings.

Re: Usenet not working

Just tried and I can confirm the issue (Thunderbird 102.6.1 64-bit).

Sounds more likely a bug introduced by one of the latest versions of Thunderbird

Re: Usenet not working

After many Thunderbird's updates the timeouts persist, I am now more inclined to believe this is an issue with the newsservers

Re: Usenet not working

Just realised I mentioned the timeout problem in this thread but put the solution in another one.

In Thunderbird right-click usenet.plus.net, then in "server settings", tick "check for new messages every ..." and choose 5 minutes.

I've found this keeps the connection alive indefinitely.
