Hi All,
I have home security cameras which I view on XMEYE iphone app.
I can see the videos when I am at home but not when I leave home.
This problem just started when I joined Plusnet a few months ago and connected my Plusnet one router.
I could see my videos from anywhere before the change.
Is there a setting within the router I need to change.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks a lot for getting in touch @Marlet
The issue here could stem from the fact that your camera system is still looking for the IP address assigned by your previous provider. It might be worth ensuring that the IP address we've assigned for you is correct in your camera system.
Also, for security cameras which can be accessed remotely, I'd suggest purchasing a static IP address, this is a one time purchase of £5.00 and will ensure that the assigned IP address remains the same, regardless of whether the router is disconnected at all.
Let me know if you don't know your current IP address and I'll send it over via PM.

Thank you for your reply Adam 945.
Please PM me the current IP address and details on how I can purchase a static IP address and assign it.
Kind Regards,
Marlet.

You can find your currentiP address by visiting https://whatismyipaddress.com/
And you can buy a Static IP address at https://www.plus.net/AddOns.html
Depending on which security cameras you use the Static IP could cause another problem.
Selecting a Static IP address also routes the internet data via the Plusnet firewall.
Unfortunately, Plusnet currently have a problem preventing users and Plusnet from turning the firewall off.
Regards
Richard

Thanks a lot @Marlet
I've just had a look at the account and can see that one of my colleague's has provided a little misinformation on the open ticket. The static IP address will be assigned to your internet connection as a whole, not just for your cameras as mentioned on the ticket. You probably won't notice a difference in your connection now that a static IP address has been assigned, just make sure that when setting up your cameras, if prompted, the new IP address is entered.
