Virgin and Plusnet In same house?

Hey.
I live in a shared house which has virgin broadband, half the time the internet does not work so I want my own pay for my own provider.

Can I have Plusnet and virgin in the same house? or do they use the same wires?

@shaelutah - It's possible it just needs to be made clear by you, the new provider, then to Openreach that they need to install a new line if virgin are using the Openreach network as they will normally just transfer services from one provider to another. If virgin are using their own cable in your area rather than the BT infrastructure, they are completely separate.
