Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

@jab1  John the router is in sync at 39999/9999 but with attainable speeds of 84/27 or similar, which shows they are on 40/10 = and the router has been up for over 5 days, and is on the latest 289.1.1 firmware - so all looks good.

A family of 4 though could flood that circuit, although looking at the data used it does not look too bad.

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

Yes channels seem to make no difference. I'm on plusnet fibre

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

@Mustrum I thought that was the case, but always best to check. Smiley

Addmitedly a family could max it out, but as you say, looking at the data usage, it is not too heavily used. Being up only five days is a bit of a concern though - my PN ADSL link had over 200 days uptime before I switched, and barring problems, I would expect an FTTC circuit to be up for much longer.

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

But not when the OP reboots the router!

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

At the moment it's just me with one device and it's dropping every few minutes.

Ooops - forgot that, but constant reboots won't help, will they? Admittedly, it doesn't seem to have upset the DLM - yet, but it certainly will, if continued.

I don't know if the Hub1 has intelligent logging (never used/seen one), but if it has could you post the current one, @Aitch21 ?

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

@jab1 there is an event log on the hub pages, very long and won't let me attach much here but this is some example

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

Thanks for that @Aitch21 , although all it shows is the router doing its job of blocking unsolicited packets, and some device requesting and getting a 24 hour lease - can you tell which of your devices 192.168.1.156 is?

OK, that's OK then and not an issue.

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

I understand that re-setting the router can cause problems but I had to because the connection wasn't staying up for more than a few seconds - since I did this at 16:55 the connection appears to be stable but unfortunately there's now no log from before this time.

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

@Aitch21 I hate to say this, and despite @adam945 saying they can't see anything from the PN end, I think you need some investigation by BT/OR.

Can you possibly post a longer log when you have one so we can see if we can spot any problems - there are none in that snippet?

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

Thanks @jab1 , things seem stable at the moment. I'll have a look through that log next time there are problems.

Seems like there is a smallish limit here for how much I can put in this box but I'll try to save as an attachment and/or see if I can spot anything suspicious and drop that in.

Thanks for all your help, and that of the others on here.

Re: Broadband slow and unstable, multiple drop outs

If you just copy and paste the 'longer' logs, they will fit the reply box, you just have scroll to see any 'hidden' lines.
