Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

Here's the folks stats. The BTW test was done wirelessly, but laptop was right next to the router.

G.INP has for some reason been disable on the line, maybe due to the issue with the socket. I know the line supports it and the router is identical to mine. That's one of the reasons I have been trying to get reset.

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

@N7ck To be honest, I can't see a problem with either of those sets of statistics as they stand. The only other bit of the jigsaw I haven't asked for is the results of BT Broadband . If you could post this information for both connections - ensuring the phone numbers are obscured - it will show if PN are doing any banding. Your results indicate they aren't, but sight of the results for both connections will confirm what BTW say the lines are capable of.

Am I just talking to myself?
I'll post that br broadband thing when I'm at a pc, but the G.INP query... Do you know what that is. Why are you and plusnet disregarding this?

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

No, @N7ck - I am replying, and from what I have seen, you are getting max possible speeds to your connection/master socket - anything beyond that is your problem, I'm afraid. Can't comment on your parents without seeing the BT Broadband result from them.

Edit to cover your edit - I will have to look into that, as it is something I have not has cause to worry about, but as I have said - you are getting max speed to your master socket, where PN/BT responsibility ends.

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

Sorry, I've done it again. Being a bit of moody git lately, getting old and turning into Victor Meldrew i think!

Mine:

Folks:

Did I read correctly that you previously mentioned (or someone did) that you had the ability to alter the SNR?

If so, could you please change mine to 1 and my folks to 3? Mine used to be 1 but I don't think your router can handle a low SNR.

Additionally, I had line error for months earlier this year on my line which Plusnet said was due to outage. But when the outage was cleared, my line remained limited. I had two appointments booked for engineer visits and neither one came which was annoying as I was really hoping for an upgrade on my master socket as it looks ancient. I was told I would get, I think £25 for each missed appointment but received nothing 😕

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

@N7ck Couple of points/observations. (1) As previously stated, I am not PN staff, so have no control over your SNR, but my initial observations are that 3dB is the minimum the system will set to (think you are there already) and your parents line appears to have some issues, so is best left alone at the moment. (2) If you are subject to 'moods', it is best not to post when feeling low - you end up sounding like someone no-one feels like helping. (3) On reflection, this should really be two separate topics - trying to remember which graphic belongs to which circuit is exhausting, especially when going back and forth.

I am expecting visitors in the next 15-20 minutes, so will be incommunicado for the afternoon, but will have another look through the thread later if I have the energy, but it may well be tomorrow morning.

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

Thanks for getting back to us @N7ck

when it comes to FTTC services, Plusnet rne;t ale to change the SNR on a line, so I wouldn't be able to do that.

I've had a look at both accounts again this afternoon:

Parent's Account

We're advised your parents to expect speeds between 59 - 72Mbps, the line is currently syncing at 60Mbps, so it's within expectations, but admittedly is on the lower end. I've found that your parents have a static IP on there, which means they're connected via L2TP. L2TP connection speed is affected by both the Openreach network, as well as our internal connection profile. Our internal connection profile does it's best to match the current Openreach DLM profile, but is sometimes a little slow to catch up. I've just reset it to the highest speed possible, so hopefully, this makes a positive impact.

Your Account

Your line is also connected to the L2TP network, most likely to do with the available equipment at the exchange, though we don't have the same problem here, as internally, your connection profile is already 80Mbps. There are no changes at all that can be made on your account, and the line is operating at optimal capacity, with download sync speeds coming in at 73.1 Mbps, on your contract, we advised you to expect speeds between 50 - 68Mbps.

Again, from a DLM perspective, neither lines are banded at all. Both KBD and RRT line tests aren't picking up any issues either. Beyond what I've outlined above, any further issues are most likely within the home environment. If you'd like us to arrange a Qube engineer visit, who specialise in the home environment, please let me know and I'll get a ticket raised on the account. Smiley

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

@adam945 Thanks for confirming my suspicions about the OPs account, and reiterating my thoughts. As regards his parents account, that is useful information, which has saved me going down a blind alley - thanks again. Just for my curiosity, how far have you been able to bump up the profile on there?

Looks like you've covered all the points I was going to look at tomorrow, so I can have a lie-in.😀

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

@jab1 I'm glad I was able to give both accounts a good once over before logging out for the day! Smiley

In regards to the our internal connection profile, which we call the Workplace Connection Profile, it's a simple process or just resetting it to the highest level we have, in this case - 78000Kbps.

This only works with L2TP connections though. When customers opt for a Static IP, it automatically reconfigures their connection onto L2TP, as opposed to PTA.

Logging off now, enjoy the rest of your weekend! Smiley

Re: Can I please request two IP Profile resets

Thanks for the replies.
The recent issues you mention regarding my folks line have once again been caused by that dodgy socket, which they clearly forgot about and used again when plugging in Christmas lights! I really should have binned that 4-way and replaced it at the time, but forgot about it.
I replaced it last week so that should not be an issue now.
