Checked the hub manager page and for some reason the user name had reverted back to 'myusername@plusdsl.net'.

 

I've entered bthomehub@btbroadband.com again and it's back on. Not sure how long for this time! Again, fingers crossed!

@Irene70   I think at least we have got a bit further than PN have so far, as to the cause, you might be right, is your neighbour now working ok?

 

Ah just seen your latest reply - that suggests the PN server knows you are out there and is trying to connect you.

@Mustrum haven't spoken with neighbour yet but will speak to him when I see him. I only moved into this house in December so don't know him too well yet 🙂 

 

Do you think that the issue is solved and it will stay working now?Huh

The first engineer to arrive told me he had been out at one of my neighbours the day my broadband crashed. He mentioned my neighbour and I somehow had our information mixed up together in some way (possibly serial numbers though I'm not sure). I'm convinced his visit to my neighbour knocked my service off with whatever he had done that day. 

That's probably not coincidental!

Looks like something is wrong in the Openreach/BTw routing. I suspect your connection needs reconstructing in the OR/BTw systems.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@Irene70    alas no it is not sorted, you are just using the standard BT Retail username, we/PN need to get you on to their system. But you have a tale to tell the next engineer who comes out or you speak to PN.

Does PN monitor these chats so they will perhaps pick up and be more clued up on what the issue is with my internet connection?

@Irene70   were it me I would whilst I  can, but there is no way to say if it will last, so still needs sorting properly.

I'm wondering if this could be a repeat of the incident which took out quite a few of us on FTTP about 4 months ago.

See this thread FTTP Fault where @Gandalf identified the problem at Message #5 of the thread.

It was eventually corrected for me and other users, but I'm not convinced I wasn't affected by the same problem a few days later when I was faced with no Internet and exactly the same symptoms, see FTTP fault - AGAIN!!!
