Re: Continuing speed mismatch between estimate and reality, worth pursuing?

Hey @SmileyH,

I'm sorry to hear that the speeds have dropped. I've had a look at the account and made an adjustment now which should take affect within the next hour or so. Please could you reboot your router in an hours time and run another speedtest to see if there's any improvement on your end?

Fix

Thanks a lot for getting back to us @SmileyH

I've just updated our internal workplace profile, which affects your line speed given that you're on a static IP. Can you have another go at a speed test and let us know what you're getting? The line is currently syncing at 38Mbps.

Re: Continuing speed mismatch between estimate and reality, worth pursuing?

Hi @adam945,

Run a few tests over the last couple of hours and had results between 28 and 36, averaging 32, only got 36 the once.

It was a stable 34-35 all of the last week after the engineers visit 🤔

Edit: Just had a weird outlier best of three tests where it was about 10Mbps

Re: Continuing speed mismatch between estimate and reality, worth pursuing?

Thanks for getting back to me @SmileyH

I'd disregard the outlier there, speeds do tend to fluctuate and are based on other devices usage that are connected to the router as well. Based on the speeds you've outlined above, I#d say there aren't any issues.

Although I should ask, where have you gotten those speed estimates from on your original post? On our end, your speed estimates show the following:
Estimated Download Speed: 26 - 29Mb
Estimated Upload Speed: 7 - 8Mb
Your Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 23.6Mb

Re: Continuing speed mismatch between estimate and reality, worth pursuing?

Hi @adam945

I was about to post and say the speeds have stabilised over the last couple of hours and I'm getting a more consistent 33-34Mbps, thank you! Smiley

The only device using the network today has been my pc (and no background updates happening), made sure everything else was off so I was confident in the speed tests.

The speed estimates on on my original post were what my account showed on the 9th of December. Which is why i'm concerned that they've been downgraded, changing from the estimates on the contract and minimum guaranteed speed.

Thanks for getting back to me @SmileyH

I'm glad to hear that your speeds are now back to where they should be. We've recently changed the way that your estimated and guaranteed speeds are generated. You can find further information on this here.
