Do FTTP connections need to "train"?

Hi folks,
Switched from FTTC to FTTP (500mpbs) yesterday on a Plusnet Hub Two. Initial speed tests over WiFi were coming in at around 300-400mpbs. This morning they're down to 50-60mpbs. Is this down to line training/stabilisation? I was under the impression that was only a thing on copper.

@AthenasOwl it is!. There is no training on FTTP.

Wifi can be seriously affected by outside influences, you need to do speed tests using a wired connection. Use speedtest.net (preferebly the cli version) as the BT wholesale one can be inconsistent at the higher speeds

Ok, will do - once I've found a device with a network port I can get close enough to the router!

Two more tests over WiFi now show 460mpbs so evidently a me issue rather than Plusnet's.
