FTTP Static IP

Hello!

I've just had my FTTP 550:75 go live, but when I try to 'activate my static ip' the page refreshes and nothing happens.

Thanks,

Re: FTTP Static IP

Have you asked and paid for a static? You have to do this either by calling up, or better still requesting it through the forum - post a request on the 'Everything Else' board.

Re: FTTP Static IP

Yeah I’ve paid for the static IP option, it’s when you’re on the page to activate it after paying. You click ‘activate’ the page refreshes, and nothing happens. I’ve tried activating it then rebooting my router in order to redial but it still says ‘you are currently using a dynamic ip’

Re: FTTP Static IP

Rebooting the Hub should automatically activate the static IP, although I have heard of your comment previously. As static IP's are allocated from a different 'pool' to dynamic, can you post the first three octets of your current external one, please - I may b able to tell you whether you have a static from that, otherwise I can ask elsewhere.

FYI - the 'activate your static IP' page doesn't work, a bit like the automatic ordering of one doesn't.

Re: FTTP Static IP

I'm not 100% sure, but this could be a static. When I see one of the 'experts' on here, I'll ask them to check for you.

Re: FTTP Static IP

The definitve test is to check the rDNS. A dynamic IP will return something like <ip address-dyn>.plus.net  whereas a static IP will return (by default) <accountname>.plus.com

Re: FTTP Static IP

I'm sure one of the Plusnet staff will be along shortly to sort it....
