Re: FTTP Upgrade

Ive been told by a friend who has FTTP 500 that I can have 500 for a trial run of 14 days and if I decide that it is not for me I can revert back to 300, is this possible

TIA

James

Re: FTTP Upgrade

We don't offer a trial, but there is a 14 day cooling off period which begins from the day after you place an order with us. It's a period of time you can use to go back onto a previous agreement if you wanted to. So while you wouldn't get 14 days to 'trial' the service, depending when the upgrade completes, which is normally next day, you should still get some time.

Re: FTTP Upgrade

Hi James,

The upgrade order's still going through the supplier systems so hopefully at some point tonight you'll have faster speeds. Smiley

Re: FTTP Upgrade

Hi, Had this email this morning, I didn't request this and I thought interleaving was kept on with FTTP and only turned off with ADSL+ connections

Regards

James

We have asked our wholesale broadband suppliers to turn interleaving off at your request.

The stability of your service may suffer as a result of turning interleaving off. If you have problems and want to turn interleaving back on, you will need to use the Broadband Fault Checker.

Interleaving usually takes 24 hours to turn off, but can take up to 5 days to take effect.

Kind regards,

Re: FTTP Upgrade

Interleaving ONLY applies to copper phone lines, so it's irrelevant for FTTP.

Althouth the BT site says it can't be turned off for Fibre - so worth asking...

Re: FTTP Upgrade

As far as I'm aware interleaving isn't a thing for FTTP, but as there's no way we can turn it on or off for an FTTP connection, I'd ignore the email. Interestingly our systems sent the email at the precise time the order completed with our suppliers.

It's likely our systems way of saying the order's completed. I'll flag it up in case it's a regular thing as it may cause confusion.

Re: FTTP Upgrade

Fix

The account change hasn't completed yet so yeah I'd wait to see what your speed looks like tonight or tomorrow morning.
