Guaranteed Speeds

Hi

Any idea why my current guaranteed speed of 30.7 will be reduced to 25.4 if I renew my contract?

Other providers are still offering me a minimum guarantee of 29+

Thanks

Re: Guaranteed Speeds

Hi @Richrdkay84, thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear it looks like your estimates have dropped since your previous contract was taken until now. Please note that estimates we have for lines can decrease over time and from my experience as a cabinet has it's fibre connections fill up, estimates lower in line with this. I can confirm we check with our suppliers who confirm your lines capabilities and this can be checked here:

Re: Guaranteed Speeds

Ok, that’s almost a 20% drop and given the issues I’ve had in the past it would enable PlusNet to get off the hook very easily which makes me suspicious given that over providers are still offering MGAL of what I have now

Thanks

Re: Guaranteed Speeds

@Richrdkay84  I wouldn't pay much attention to Plusnet's Guaranteed speed, they tend to set it rather low. You need to look at your current sync speed in the modem/router stats. If you consider that speed to be acceptable then re-contracting will not do anything to change the speed you have now. Have you looked at the checker link to see if you are getting the expected speeds?
