Possible DLM issue or something else?

Hi,

I've had to stop using the Plusnet Hub one router as my DSLAM is Huawei which has vectoring switched on. I've been having multiple disconnects for weeks and after going through the usual routine was advised by Openreach that there is a known issue with these routers. As a workaround until Hub Two is made available to residential customers. I've cobbled together an old openreach modem and Draytek 2925 router to keep me going.

The connection is now very stable with no multiple daily disconnects but my line speed is 15 - 20 Mbps slower than what it was. I used to be sitting up around 68 Mbps, but now I'm at 49.2 Mbps and below my minimum guaranteed speed,.

Has this switch of hardware had an impact or is this a DLM issue?

Cheers

Paul

@pacarey  Welcome to the forum.

Is the Openreach modem a Huawei or ECI manufactured unit?

You can pick up a BT Smarthub from and auction site for very little money. Why not try one? You will find setting instructions etc. pinned to the top of the Router board on this forum.

Re: Possible DLM issue or something else?

Thanks for your post @pacarey and welcome to our Community Forums.

I'm sorry to see you're having connection issues.

Line tests aren't showing a DLM issue as the full profile is "Downstream: 0.128M-80M with Retransmission (Low). Upstream: 0.128M-19M with Retransmission (High)"

Can you try plugging the Hub One back in and see what speed you get? If your speed doesn't improve, I'd recommend we arrange another engineer visit to take a closer look so I've logged a ticket on your account Here.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
