Good Afternoon,
I’m currently on the fastest speed possible with Plusnet, the 65-70 mbps which I max out regularly. I’ve looked at other providers, and they offer much faster connections than mine. Sky is offering 130 and BT offers up to 257mbps on my line. Will plusnet be offering speeds like this at any time?
Many thanks.

@dexta211 Those higher speeds are probably fibre to the premises (FTTP) or possibly G.Fast (a higher speed version of FTTC) Neither of these technologies are currently supplied by Plusnet although they say they will be providing FTTP maybe later this year. What does this BT checker link say is available for your phone number......

It says that using G.fast high it’s capable of 282.5 and low at 202. Vdsl is 80.
so plusnet aren’t going to provide G.fast at all?

There's been no word on PlusNet doing G.fast. FTTP is coming but it's not known when. They've missed the first general date suggested (a little later than Autumn).
PlusNet have been waiving cancellation charges for those who move to BT or EE FTTP - they might do the same for a G.fast move.

For information, BT are rumoured to be bringing out a new router in the near future. These "rumours" were mentioned about the same time as PlusNet were slated as introducing a new router around the introduction of a FTTP product.
I believe the current BT SmartHub2 is well respected - many PlusNet customers have bought the previous BT HH6 as a better WiFi unit than the HubOne (which is a re-badged BT HH5).
If you're not in an absolute rush for greater speed it might be worth waiting a while to see if they do bring out a new router.

You have to be realistic. I don’t believe that any new hub will make a significant difference to the upload speed over an Ethernet cabled connection. G.Fast speeds will always be capable of much faster speeds.
It’s also rather optimistic to assume that as soon as they are announced that Plusnet Hub Twos will be handed out to all customers.

I was actually thinking of the OP waiting to see if BT brought out a new router in the near future but I accept my post wasn't clear.
