MAC Address Filtering - Can't find it ...

I am waiting for Openreach to come install fibre on Tuesday and reading about the router that I received (Sagecom 2704n) I see that it is completely substandard (to put it mildly), and Plusnet even charges for it
I currently have a Netgear DGND3000 set up with MAC filtering and each device we connect has its  IP assigned.  I don't want to plug it in yet, in case it needs to go back but I cannot see anywhere in the  links under Plusnet 2704n help http://www.plus.net/support/routerguidelinks/routerhelp/ ; to achieve the basic settings I mentioned.
The only option I see is to return this one and get a proper router or router/modem (DGND3700 or DGND4000?)

The Netgear products you mention are all ADSL routers and they're not suitable for use with (or indeed without) the BT modem that will be supplied when your fibre service is installed.

hmm reading the description here http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/networking/dsl-modems-routers/dgnd4000.aspx it looked like this one would have worked (I'm not an expert as you can tell )
What do people use instead? Any recommendations :

Oops - Apologies.  Yes, the 4000 has ethernet WAN as well as an integrated ADSL modem so will work

Still, there should be some response from Plusnet with a firmware update to their router (or some other solution if that's not possible).
MAC filtering is such a useful and basic security setting,

@slovell  and for everybody's reference, I found more advanced settings and the MAC filtering options in the  Sagemcom 2704N supplied by Plusnet.

You need to log in with the usual router password.
I was going to change the router password but read of some people having issues so I won't bother for now. Check the Hardware section in the forum and you'll find more geeky details

Just to play Devil's Advocate here, MAC filtering is next to useless.
A hard to guess WPA password provides real security, MAC filtering provides a false sense of it.

I doubt there is a single method to keep any connection safe, really.
The more layers the more difficult to break in

Looking at Advanced Settings, it appears to my layman's eye that the router still does not support Mac filtering.  Is that correct?  Does Plusnet have any plans for an upgrade that does support this?
