Re: My router has broken

@JulieD42

With a paperclip or similar push it into the rest hole in the side of the Openreach ONT, hold it shut until the lights change. Then do the same on the Plusnet Hub, holding the switch closed until you get a green light.

Re: My router has broken

@JulieD42 in that case , its got to be worth doing the factory reset on the ONT as @Baldrick1 suggests.

Re: My router has broken

Ok I’ve just done that, I did the ONT box until the lights went off and one turned red and reset router straight after. The router is still solid orange.

@JulieD42 ok, I'm not sure there's much else you can do.

It does seem a bit too coincidental that it was working before the cables were disturbed but everything looks to be correct...

Re: My router has broken

It does doesn’t it. I just don’t understand why as he just untangled them. I’m concerned them not sending a BT engineer will delay this even further.

I appreciate everyone’s help. Thank you.

Re: My router has broken

Nothing looks wrong from the photos.

It would be well worth plugging something (a laptop?) into the first Ethernet hole and seeing what happens.

I suspect you will see some sort of fault page in a browser (192.168.1.254 as previously detailed).

With a reset of the Openreach ONT and the router, when plugged in it should all "come good" however it might have previously been upset.

I am the satisfied customer....

Re: My router has broken

Just an observation, before I try something more relaxing for the rest of the afternoon, but if the PADI are being sent, but not acknowledged, does that not rule out an internal issue?

Re: My router has broken

@jab1 yes it would appear to. The log confirms the router is trying to send the PADI and the LAN light flashing on the ONT would seem to confirm they are going out.

It just seems too coincidental that is was working before...

Re: My router has broken

Thanks for confirming @JulieD42

After doing everything you've been asked for above it's changed the way the line is testing and we're no longer seeing an issue with the connection between the router and the ONT.

Can you try turning both off for two minutes and then back on to see if this helps out?

After the 3rd of November I will have a limited presence here as I have moved to a new role

Re: My router has broken

@MatthewWheeler does @jab1 s suggestion earlier of a stale session have any possibility ? although you would have thought that any session would have long since timed out and cleared by now
