Re: Netflix Connection Test Fails on 2 Servers

I thought I'd share our fix as you were kind enough to respond previously.

Whilst the Netflix error gave us no help, finding that SONOS was also not working gave us another avenue to explore and one of their debug links talked about MTU.

Our router had the default setting of 1500 MTU (as is standard), but it turns out that reducing this to 1464 (as recommended by SONOS) has fixed the issue. No more dropped packets and we can now use Netflix and SONOS fine.

Yay!

Re: Netflix Connection Test Fails on 2 Servers

I was away from home when I received this post and was looking forward to trying this at home.  Alas, the router MTU is already set to 1492 which is the 1464 you suggest plus the +28 required for the IP and ICMP headers.

Just by chance are you saying the router is actually set to 1464 (1436 + 28) ?

Re: Netflix Connection Test Fails on 2 Servers

Your optimum MTU may be different to ours maybe?

https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1007914/

We set the MTU and MRU on the router (ASUS RT-AC3200) to 1464, but it may be worth you trying a few options following the guide above?
