Re: New Customer

Where as Part Fibre (FTTC copper last mile) would use DLM I can't see why Full Fibre would.

 EDIT: removed incorrect link

New link: - what replaces DLM for Full Fibre

Re: New Customer

Thanks @Dan_the_Van . Thought that link to 'Gemini' - whatever it is - looked a tad 'suspicious' - 'created today' made it look funny.

Re: New Customer

Yes your correct but what your not listening to is Plusnet is still using Openreach Old infrastructure that was created for copper wire services.

Your getting Full Fibre connection to your poperty but it is controlled through Openreach Old infrastructure that Plusnet are using. They set up a profile for every customer through Openreach Old infrastructure.

You have not given 'facts', just some wild claims with no proof!

So its Profile management, nothing to do which copper line performance which is what DLM is for.

ALL ISP's , including the Altnets, have a profile associated with each Fibre connection. That's how they can offer a customer different throughput speeds at different prices, and manage the network capacity

Re: New Customer

Yes . I'm not disagreeing with you or other people here. but you still seem to think that Plusnet is not using Openreach Old infrastructure for copper wire services.

Your obviously not that updated on Plusnet infrastructure

but the same infrastructure is used by all ISPs that supply FTTP via Openreach, PLusnet is no different!

Re: New Customer

Ah - we are getting somewhere. Of course ADSL/FTTC services stil run on the 'copper' network - BUT FTTP(Full Fibre) doesn't.

@tyga2025 What is your experience in the comms industry?
