New Fibre installation - speed restricted?

After 3 failed engineer visits, I finally had the FTTP installation completed by Openreach today. Whilst the engineer was here, I did a speed test and got 450Mbps-500Mpbs over 2 speed tests. Trying to show off to my father about 30 minutes later, it had dropped to 45Mbps (the 'old' line's speed) and has been that way ever since (about 5 hours).

The current 45Mpbs is identical to what I was receiving before, which leads me to think that the new 500Mbps connection and contract hasn't been 'activated' yet and the line is speed-restricted to the old contract's terms, which was 46Mbps and therefore Plusnet have to increase the speed limit on the line up to 500Mbps.  Is that likely, or not even a thing?

Fix

@Raybybaby Maybe Plusnet are not 'aware' the connection is live - wait until you get the confirmation email/text from them, and then try again - although one the connection is made it should work as expected.

@Raybybaby

When my Full Fibre went live a speedtest gave me the package speed even before I received the confirmation email.

There is a chance the testing device unless wired was connected to 2.4GHz signal which would explain the reduced speed compared to 5GHz. 2.4GHz speeds are usually sub 72Mbps
