New Full Fibre installation - will Openreach remove Master Socket?

Hi,

Having full fibre installed in three weeks. I'm comfortable losing landline, but can anyone tell me if Openreach will remove the existing master socket? Other houses on our estate seem to have the outside junction box fitted exactly where the old copper line entered the house (all underground cables on our estate). Does this mean the ONT can be fitted in place of the old master socket?

Thanks

Hi @northbay

Thanks for getting in touch, hope you're doing good Smiley

Engineers don't tend to remove the existing master socket just because there's always that case you might go back, (don't know why anyone would do that though). If you really don't want it any more, you can ask them to see if they will remove it, just depends on what extra work this would require though.
