Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

Just done a Wi-Fi speedtest on my iPhone (again) and it's 150.42 Mbps.

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

The new router will be with you seen so that will confirm a lot for us. Let us know how you get on with it when it comes and we'll go from there. Cheers

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

@Eggs  This looks like one of the many cases where Openreach claim the order to upgrade has been completed when in fact it hasn't as far as the downstream speed is concerned. Plusnet seem to have very little influence to  get Openreach to sort their failures out.

@James30
Hello James,

I'm not trying to jump the queue but this appears to be the same issue I have.

https://community.plus.net/t5/Full-Fibre/Full-fibre145-speed/m-p/1924013  any chance of having a look?

Thanks

No worries. It's good you posted so they know it's effecting others.

@shazzbot  re " It's good you posted so they know it's effecting others.", I was just having a wander around the forum, do you have a similar issue as well?
From a couple of posts I found it would appear that after the upgrade something is keeping users at their previous download speed even though Plusnet records it on your profile as the new speed!
No one seems to have it fixed...

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

@Porthrepta  I blame Openreach systems failure for this fiasco.

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

I actually find it rather amusing.

150 Mbps download was more than enough for what we use it for. I only upgraded to 300 Mbps because it was cheaper.

For me, it is the principal. I am paying for 300 Mbps and am not getting it. At this stage I fully admit it may be something I have done, but the evidence is starting to suggest Openreach "couldn't be bothered" to do what they needed to do. Call me cynical (I am) but I would be not at all surprised if I have not been given the package I ordered.

If - if - it isn't my fault (it isn't) I will then look into financial compensation. Could anyone give me any advice as regards this?

Bear in mind I am not receiving the guaranteed minimum download speed for the package I am paying for.

Money talks.

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

My Plusnet Hub 2 router arrived today but is doesn't work.

It looks like the on/off switch is a bit dicky.

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

Could the power adapter be faulty?

Unfortunately, the round barrel plug is unique to BT/Plusnet smart hubs and older home hub 5/hub one models.  ie. other 12v power adapters won't fit into socket.

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

Yep.  Plusnet will have to send you another hub two.

wow you're having a double nightmare then!

I just hope openreach pull their fingers out soon and sort the speed issue out for those of us who are waiting.

Re: No speed increase with upgrade.

I haven't actually been told it is the fault of Openreach - that is just speculation.

Even though the service prior to upgrade and post upgrade has not changed in download speed by one single Mbps, it has been suggested my internal cat6 network could be at fault, the high grade cat6 ethernet leads I am using aren't good enough, both routers I have used aren't good enough or faulty (and faulty in such a way as to give the exact same result), my iPhone 11 is giving a false wireless reading, my PC - and that of my daughter's aren't good enough (though give the exact same result) and that the Qube engineer may have been mistaken when testing my system (and no doubt his equipment must have also been faulty in the exact same way as mine because it gave the exact same result).

Personally, and forgive me for being presumptuous, I don't think I am receiving 300 Mbps fom Plusnet. Nor does the Qube engineer but perhaps we are both mistaken (no doubt in the exact same way).
