Openreach did not make good after fibre install.

Am I being fussy here or should this have been dealt with before leaving after the fibre installation? In addition to this I had to go around the outside of the property picking up loads of the cable pins that had been scattered and left by the engineer.

Not sure what you mean, OR should have picked up the pins and/or broken bit of plastic, but if you mean the pavior brick, then come on, those must be down 30 years as they are as bad as mine same vintage, and they are so tightly bound in that hammer and chisel is the only way to get one out. Being old they will break easily, bit like my own old bones.
