Mine seems to drop every few days, 8 days about the best I've had.

As I posted elsewhere (probably), my Home Hub 5 Type A drops every 3 or so days. So I've gone and bought a HH5 Type B as apparently they don't suffer this problem.
We shall see.

Wonder if a different modem would cure the problem?

You shouldn't have to do that but I am thinking of purchasing a Draytek router.
Still got one on a broadband line I use, rock solid.

Draytek are one of the few brands that use the same Lantiq chips as what's in the Hub One. So a Draytek might be a fairly expensive way to not solve a fairly minor problem.

Only thinking about it - just so annoying that Plusnet seem unable to provide a reliable service.
Appreciate they are not regular drops but there is no reason for them and of course suppliers don't mention the possibility of these issues when selling their service.

Hi,
I had the fix pushed to my router by Bobpullen, which did the trick. Since then, I have upgraded to 80/20 and now see connection drops again (albeit less frequent than before).
I have been advised that because this is not due to the same issue as Bobpullen's fix, I should post elsewhere, so here I am! PlusNet support have merely said it is a wireless issue, but why would my router actually disconnect from the internet because of a wireless issue?
Any help would be appreciated!
Chris

I have been experiencing exactly the same cutoffs as here, about 2-3 times daily, using a PlusNet HubOne router. PlusNet support initially diagnosed it as a line fault, but as a telecoms engineer I was skeptica - more so since the line to my house was replaced only 12 months ago (builders cut the line!). I am also on fixed/static IP. I recently switched from the old 40/20Mb service to the 80/20MB service, which is when I started having problems.
On my PlusNet router, I started getting 2-3 cutoffs a day - logs below.
For the past week, I switched to my old DLINK router, with a BT fibre modem terminating to the line (Huawei). For the past 6 days, the cutoffs stopped completely. Yesterday, I borrowed a second PlusNet router, and put it onto the line. The cutoffs started again, and we are back in the cycle of 2-3 cutoffs per day. So clearly there is a fault interaction with the PlusNet HubOne routers, and it is not a single product failure since it is happening on both the PlusNet routers - but not the BT Fibre Modem.

further proof towards PLUSNET Home Hubs having issues with their chipsets (I would put a pound on that your connected to an ECI cab (also Lantiq chipset same as Plusnet Hub) - i am, I had speed issues every few days and only a reboot would fix, i was sure it was chipset due to others having similar issues, right enough they sent me another hub and same happened, so i got the next hub up from it, the BT Home Hub 'Type 5B' with a Broadcom chipset known for stability (as Plusnet Hub is the same thing but 'Type 5A' - Lantiq chipset) and low and behold all my problems stopped, higher sync speeds, better wifi too...
they just wont admit they have a problem that needs identifying, they just go of a case by case basis which probably cost more in the long run
