Remote access to Technicolour router

I cant login beyond the main screen when I connect remotely to my Plusnet supplied router (Technicolor TG582n). This is the same whether I use my DDNS address or the current ip address of the router.  I have also setup the remote asistance facility within the router software with a different user name and password and this has made no difference either.  Any ideas?l
