Slow download speed

Hi there,

I cannot get anything faster than 18mps for downloading files, I don't understand why this is, does anyone have any ideas why this is the case?

This is the service I pay for

• Product:  Full Fibre 145
• Estimated Download Range:  145 - 160Mbps
• Estimated Upload Range:  27 - 30Mbps
• Minimum Guaranteed Speed:  80Mbps
• Current Line Speed (Download):  160Mbps

An update...

Called support, no issues on the fibre link

reset router and set up again

tested speedtest shows full speed

I should add that I get 18mps download speeds on wifi as well as CAT6 ethernet on the same pc.

downloaded a game from the Epic store 18mps, downloaded a game from Steam 18mps, downloaded from usenet 18mps

Could this be an issue with Openreach?  I reset their FTTP box before resetting the router but its made no difference.

I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening.

It's down to how the speeds are being reported.

18MBps = 144Mbps.

Notice the capital 'B' and the lower case 'b' ?

That makes sense when you convert the megabytes to megabits, having just read an article on that very subject. Thanks for the response.
