Slow speed dropping out never happened on copper

Guys I hope you can help me, since going fttp,  I've nothing but problems, wifi speed can be anywhere from 10 to 160 Meg,  it also drops out,  I've called  tech help they say line is OK, I can't believe it, nothing  I repeat  nothing has changed  since copper , no more connections,  yet copper was more stable, I'm sick and tired of buffering,  tech help says it's a WiFi connection problem  , wiser heating is red according to them, I've gad this system over 5 years,  never an issue on copper,  I'm  at my wits end and about to cancel  dd, tech help is was no help, they tried a channel change,  its still no good  one minute 160meg 5 minutes later 30meg  , please help

Re: Slow speed dropping out never happened on copper

I am not an expert, but it does sound like a WiFi issue... did you get a new router with your FTTP connection?  The newer Hub2 routers WiFi works a bit differently to the older hubs, I have seen people reporting issues with some older WiFi devices.

If you did get a new hub2 router do you still have the old hub and know if it can be used on FTTP?  If you can use it on FTTP that may be worth trying to see if the WiFi network works as it used to.

If you can give us some details of what router you have and what older router you might have someone with more knowledge on here may be able to help you.

Re: Slow speed dropping out never happened on copper

I have plusnett hub2  and have had this on copper, never had such speed swings then   , and this morning with only me awake , a speed test was only 30meg, so there couldn't be much drawing,  ring door bell, heating and phones , cheers for input
