Static IP cost

Hello - I unknowingly added a static IP to my account.  It didn't show the cost, however it has charged me a £5 setup fee.  Is this a one off fee, and there is no recurring fee going forward?

Re: Static IP cost

@lstegall  That's it, a one off £5 fee, no monthly rip off like some other ISPs😀

How did you unknowingly set it up?

Re: Static IP cost

Thanks think i was just seeing what it would cost and added it.

I did try to remove it, but the browser hung so don't think I did, can you check if it is still static as I have paid the fee so will keep it then.

Re: Static IP cost

Getting static IP nowadays is like gold-dust.  Plusnet are great as they only charge a setup fee, and no continued monthly rip-off that you get elsewhere.  Also, most ISPs will only offer static IP on business accounts, so a double whammy!

As you have it now I would recommend you keeping it.  As the world becomes more connected it opens up the possibility to putting your own devices on the Net, without traffic going via a manufacturer's server.

Regards,

Steve
