Hello and Happy New Year
Have had no internet since yesterday afternoon , I phoned them yesterday to report the issue and was told the fault should be fixed by 9pm .
8am still no internet , phoned again and was told there was a major fault that only affected myself ? and it should be fixed for 8pm.
9pm , 8pm , hmmm , sould be fixed about the same time it becomes impossible to contact anyone until tomorrow ?
I feel like some one is trying to pull the wool over my eyes .
Since when does it take 2 days to fix a fault ? Ive checked the green box down the road , it hasnt been bombed .

Happy new year to you too.
You've posted in the Full Fibre board so if you are on Full Fibre the green cabinet down the road would have no effect on your service, bombed or not, as FF doesn't use the cabinet. Not much use I know, but hopefully your service will be resumed soon.

For general information the fibre cable may not even go to your local Exchange. It is routed to one of about 1000 major Exchanges which have Internet Head Ends (the interconnect to the wider ecosystem).
Generally speaking it'll fair better in a power cut too if you have back up for the ONT and Router. A FTTC cabinet only lasts for about 30 minutes apparently.
What are the lights on the ONT showing?
