Re: Upload speed

Apologies I don't mean a test on your end I mean on Openreach's end.

It's still showing on the line at the moment so I'll check again for you tomorrow

After the 3rd of November I will have a limited presence here as I have moved to a new role

Re: Upload speed

@MatthewWheeler … cue daft question … could that BTOR test condition impact usable upload speed?

Re: Upload speed

I see. I don't know why BT would be performing any testing. I haven't contacted them in regard to the network issues, only Plusnet have been contacted.

Re: Upload speed

You know the funny thing? This morning I received Plusnets generic email stating my network has now been running for 14 days and I'm apparently getting download 145 - 160 and upload 27 - 30! From the get go I've only ever had 145 download and upload 20, and trust me, I have tested at various points in the day to avoid traffic and it's always the same result.

Re: Upload speed

@Townman As far as I know it shouldn't affect it. The message has cleared this morning but I'm still unable to run the test so it's being passed up for investigation

@Notoriousxx Unfortunately it's an automated e-mail sent based on the provisioned speeds. I can appreciate the frustration this is causing but as it's a seemingly complex issue it will take time to investigate. I'll be in touch when I know more

Re: Upload speed

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

If this cannot be resolved, then in your contract terms it says if you cannot resolve this in a minimum of 30 days then I am able to cancel my contract without termination charge.

@Notoriousxx  I'm looking to see if we can get you an engineer out to take a look at this for you. Can you confirm your availability please, the appointments are Monday to Friday between 8am and 1pm or between 1pm and 6pm?

Re: Upload speed

I will have to come back to you as I'd need to arrange someone to be at the property. I should know by Monday. Thanks.

Re: Upload speed

I may try factory resetting the router and starting fresh as I have been reading various other posts where this was the resolution as well as testing with other channels and switching modes.
I understand the router only has dual band wireless that can't be split. I have a lot of devices connecting to the 2.4GHz band. I will test with various channels using an app called WiFi Analyzer to see if it may be congestion causing the low upload (I doubt).
I will perform this testing and get back to you, as I don't want to waste an engineers time if a simple factory reset resolved the issue.

Re: Upload speed

Sorry for delay. Had a tough few weeks.

Unfortunately, factory resetting has done nothing. The WiFi analyzer app is also useless as it recommends channels that aren't even options to choose on the router. Also tried switching modes to no avail.

Very frustrating. All Speed Test by Ookla results come back as 20 upload but the BT Wholesale thing shows 30. Why?! 😭
