Using mesh with an FTTP service

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a TP-link 550 mesh unit to help with dead zones in my property. I did my research and established I can bypass my router and connect directly to the ONT as I have FTTP.

However I can seem to get my mesh to work. I have a feeling it could be in set up when I try to identify the internet type connection. I put in dynamic IP but is there something more I need in setting this up?

Fix

@jp23

 You need to set the input to PPPoE, your username to your account username suffixed with @plusdsl.net, you password is your account password. VLAN, if it’s showing, should be blank.

@jp23

You need to select PPPoE for the internet connection, in the setup screen you should see Username and password.

These are the members centre username and password pair with @plusdsl.net added to the username

Oh well someone types faster than me!

Re: Using mesh with an FTTP service

Sorry if I sound really slow as I am not technical at all, but are you saying the internet connection type should be PPPoE instead of Dynamic IP?#

And the username is:

xxx@plusdsl.net

and I use my personal account password with plusnet NOT my wireless password key?

Re: Using mesh with an FTTP service

@jp23

Does the TP-Link 550 have PPPoE in the connection drop down?

If not can you confirm the the exact model number of this device?

Edit: for clarity the PPPoE setup is the routers username and password to logon to the internet.
