Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

Router has arrived i've plugged it into test socket so far same issues with buffer bloat and unusable connection whilst downloading. I managed to fix this on my router by limiting my bandwith to belllow 50Mbps which is less than ideal since im contracted to get 52. But despite sinking at 52 the connection is unusable at those speeds as my ping spikes high enough i time out from services. How does one go about raising a fault and getting an engineer visit?.

I shall continue to do more tests but honestly i don't see it likely to improve as its been like this since the start of my contract where I am only able to use 60% of my sync speed. It just happens to be that my sync speed has dropped low enough for this to become annoying!.

Ironically dlm has started peeling back my interleaving and the depth is decreasing day on day.

Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

Thanks for getting back to us @Youngsie97

I'm sorry to see you're still experiencing problems with the new router.

I'd recommend raising a fault to us at http://faults.plus.net to arrange an engineer visit. On the day of the visit or before it may be worth not capping your speeds so the problem's there while the engineer's investigating.

If you can post back once you've raised the fault, we'll pick the ticket up as soon as we can on the back of the post.

I have raised the fault, apologies for the late reply as you have probably guessed based on my post times I am a bit of a night owl.

I would replace my stuff 100% with just the plusnet hubone the night before and for the duration of the engineer visit as to rule out my equipment which I have already done but you know how openreach are...

Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

I love how open reach engineers can leave you waiting all day and not even bother to phone you to tell you they wont be coming. complete waste of my day and my speeds with the Hub one(no Qos) are now far bellow my contracted speed sitting around 30-46 mbps(and 200 ping whilst streaming or doing anything on the line) . I am beyond annoyed at this point could you point me towards whom I would contact for compensation as low speeds have been going on for well over  a week now and  i've wasted 5 and a half hours today waiting on a no show.   🙄

It looks like somebody has done something as in my vdsl stats. I am finally on fast mode and not interleaving :p. and my sync speed is sitting at 65Mbps. the confusing part is why I am now downloading at lower speeds and higher ping than ever. even with traffic limiting i am now spiking like crazy.

Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

Thanks for getting back to us @Youngsie97 I'm sorry to see the engineer didn't arrive. The notes we've received from an engineer yesterday afternoon advises they attended your property and then passed the job back to us as no fault found. I'm getting in touch with Openreach now for more information including photographic evidence.

I would like some clairifacation as to what counts as "attending my property" because i sat in the living room for the entire duration of 6 hours yesterday feeling like death listening for my front door like a hawk and I didn't have a single person to my door in all that time.

Thanks for getting back to me @Youngsie97

I've been discussing this with an Openreach adviser and I've added a reply to your ticket 199418047 with more detail.

Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

In my opinion I have evidence going back a year that I have seldom recieved my contracted line speeds and that plusnet have been in violation of our contract on more than one occasion where do i stand as far as compensation for the matter or do I just stop paying my bill until the matter is resolved?

Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

Thanks for getting back to me @Youngsie97

I'm afraid we're generally only aware of a problem when you report it to us. I've gone through the notes on your account and this seems to be the first time you've reported a fault to us.

While it's your decision if you want to stop paying your bill, this won't have any impact on how we deal with the fault and it'd likely mean that late payment fees are added at day 14 of failed payment and the account closes on day 49, generating a final bill with the outstanding balance plus any early termination fees.

Ideally this isn't something we'd want and while we can't pause the billing of your account while your service is in fault, as per my reply on the ticket once the fault is resolved I'll be happy to discuss a goodwill gesture.

Re: Was told for interleaving to be disabled on a VDSL line i would need an engineer visit costing £

Sorry I did not see the end of your message as the first part made me quite angry.

I want to make sure that I won't be receiving a charge for the engineer visit ?.

As for avability i will have to check some things and get back to you but what happens if they fail to show up for a second time?

I think its discusting that open reach can treat people this way and not see any repreucations for it. ultimately my complaint isn't even with plusnet yourselves its Open reach  but you have to sit and take my complaint anyway because there's no way to complain to open reach directly.

As stated in my ticket I didn't recieve any phone calls yesterday but there was a 15-20 min peroid of time where my phone line was externally disconnected. so if the engineer phoned me during that time  its not my fault?
