downloading from you tube

IS anybody else having download from you tube speed issues??? as I am getting a speed of 0.5 Mbps which means any download takes an hour

I have done a speed test and it shows my download speed is 60 Mbps so why is youtube so slow am I been throttled by plusnet?

If your normal speedtest is giving you a result of 60, then the problem is the connection to YT - in other words the route the YT download is taking/the server you are downloading from.

My Thinkbroadband speed test is consistently 36.8/37Mbps, but any program updates - say LibreOffice - are only are only achieving around 20/23. The constraining factor  is that servers upload speed. Plusnet are not throttling you.

@haywardsteve I'm on similar FTTC as John with 36/37Mb and have no bother downloading Youtube using a Firefox extension, Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express by Di[-Censored-]a. Gave up on Firefox earlier this year because of constant meddling and updating but still use it for this extension only.
