PS2 Network Access Disc

I need a genuine PS2 Network Access Disc. Has anyone had the need to source one of these and if so where from and how.
My grandson has the PS2 (SCPH-50003) second-hand with a load of games but no documentation.
I have purchased a used Network Adaptor but appear to need the disc and a PIN Undecided
With some of PSN still under repair information is scarce.

Re: PS2 Network Access Disc

I have one, it came with my adapter (since sold said adapter)
I can probably post you it tbh, (if i can find it - ill look in the morning)
Cant remember much about the setup, my console was chipped = couldnt be used online. Had a second one but whenever i played online, the experience was shocking. (512K shared between 4 people, one of whom is trying to play games = fail)
AFAIK. you cant use a "copy" of the access disc in the console without it being chipped (i could be wrong O_O) any modifications, copied disc fobs etc. were (i believe) enough to get the console blacklisted.
i'll post back tomorrow if i find it Smiley

Fortunately I keep detailed notes of such things, as I can't now see how you can get the PS2 network disk from the Playstation website.
Originally I requested my network setup disk from http://www.yourgamingname.com but that now seems redirected to http://uk.playstation.com/
However that disk never arrived  Angry
Then I phoned "Network Gaming" support on 08702 422 299, who sent me the disk and issued me with a PIN code.
I got the disk, but the PIN never arrived, so I requested another PIN by phoning "General Enquiries" on 08705 99 88 77.
That PIN code arrived, completed the online registration, configured PS2 network, set router to DMZ the PS2, and it worked.  Cheesy
That joy was very short lived as we soon discovered that (in 2007) that many of the games servers were unavailable and were focusing on the newer PS3.
My son might have just been unlucky with the selection of network capable games that he had, but overall we were disappointed by the whole experience.   Cry

Then there is always eBay !

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Playstation-2-Network-Access-Disc-Network-adapter-/120744940178?pt=UK_Vide...
but if you do this, then first contact the seller to ensure the disk is the one intended for YOUR console model number.

Re: PS2 Network Access Disc

Thanks Matt Smiley
@Purleigh
That's my next option to call Customer Support so thanks for the numbers.
There is a post on Ebay advising people not to buy the disc as it's freely available from Sony.
I did try the 'torrent' route but without success.

Re: PS2 Network Access Disc

i thought it was just the adapter that was different dependant on the console version?
I've found my disc strat Wink However my console version was *way* old, (one of the first ones..) So im not sure it will be any good to you?
You'll still need to phone them to get a PIN it seems ~ worth asking them to send the disc too?
If you still want the disc, send me a PM - but im pretty sure my console started SCPH-30xxxx...
