Steam gaming issues

Hello,
I am not sure what else to do at this point and would love to know if anyone else has had any similar issues. And of course if there are any fixes.
When I go to load a majority of my steam games they boot to a black screen and stay there. They will then freeze but not crash back to desktop. If I manually stop the game then Steam will be stuck thinking the game is still running and I have to restart as it doesn't even respond to task manger. The only games I have gotten to work are old games (Fallout: New Vegas for example works. Cyberpunk, Starfield, Coral Island, Subnautica for example don't). Strangely enough Sims 4 was working but started doing the same thing around Christmas.
However, all games work fine if I take my computer to my parents house (not Plusnet). Coupled with the fact these issues only started after we had Full Fibre installed, makes me suspect something is up with the connection.
Things I have done:
1. Reinstalled my games and verified them.
2. Reinstalled Steam.
3. Moved games around storage to see if any difference. None noticed.
4. Had the router replaced.
I don't want to scrub my computer. At the moment I don't have the time to call but am trying to make time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @tishtash59,
I myself use a PlusNet connection and have had no issues like this.
Do the games that do not work require and always working internet connection?
Weird that the issue only occurs when connected to the PlusNet internet, for something like that it shouldn't matter what network you are connected to.
Also, when you try the games at your parents house, were they installed at yours then played at your parents? or did you re-install them at their house using their internet?
Also, also, if you are able to connect your computer to your mobile hotspot with tethering as an example does the issue also occur, from your house of course.?
I highly doubt this issue is something to do with the internet it's self, I don't see an internet connect stopping you from loading games up through steam.
Would also be worth checking on steams settings that the download server is set to the closest option, mine was set to an entirely different country when I last checked.
Save your self the time with calling, we wouldn't be able to help with an issue like that as we aren't trained on issues this specific.
I did run a test and everything is coming back clean and green, so no problems from what I can see.
Let us know how you get on.

Hello,
I took my PC tower physically to my parents house. There there were no issues. The games I play are mostly single player RPGs that I think don't need a constant internet connection. My xbox works fine for online games.
Thank you for checking the signal. It seems likely to be something else that occurred around the same time as the fibre install.
I will try and connect with hotspot, unfortunately phone signal isn't the best round here. Will see if that works. There are some other things that have been suggested as well. Otherwise it'll be off to find a more specific advice board!
Thank you
