My Mothers phones has recently got extremely quiet. Mum lives in a very rural setting and is reliant on her telephone.
The phone is plugged directly in the the test socket and we have also replaced the cordless phone with a very basic corded phone and the results are the same.
We have removed everything else from the phone system including filter and the broadband router. This has made no difference. It started about a week ago.
I think we must be near the end of the line as when we do have broadband, speeds are very slow. <0.5 mbps. We have had numerous issues with the line over the years.
Please help. Mum doesn't drive and her phone is her lifeline.
Doug

Looks like there is a line missing from the help pages for both landline and broadband
For landline it used to be
Text PHONE followed by your landline number to 07800008121.
e.g. PHONE 01234567891 (charge may apply at your standard rate)

Information has been deleted from the page on how to report a fault by text
For phone issues it should be
Text PHONE followed by your landline number to 07800008121.
e.g. PHONE 01234567891 (charge may apply at your standard rate)

It does, however the spam filters are preventing me from specifying the format of the text message.
EDIT: just noticed all my previous replies have been released
