Home phone ex directory

Hi,

We are a new customer. After an initial faff about to retain our original home phone number, most things are working well. Our home number now seems to be not private any more though. As in, when you phone someone the number appears on their handset.

Is there any way to change this?

Cheers

Re: Home phone ex directory

@Ellen1947 The default is for your number to appear on the called persons handset/phone. You can disable this on a call-by-call basis by dialling '141' followed by the number you are calling i.e. 1410123 456789. You can request your number to be permanently withheld, but you will need a Plusnet Help Team member to create a ticket to confirm this request.

Who were you with previously?

@Ellen1947

What do you mean by ex-directory?

Whilst people you choose to ring will see your number so that they know who is calling them, your number will not be included in a public telephone directory.

Many people will understandably ignore "number withheld" calls - I certainly do.

Requesting this feature could well be a shot in the foot!
