Noise on line, can't contact helpdesk

Yesterday around 8.30 a.m. I received a clear call, but later in the day the line was so noisy voice was unintelligible. The line is less bang, pop and crackly now, but hisses. I have tried the 'Phone Troubleshooter' which says the result was inconclusive, try again later. I cannot call the helpdesk: the tone dial sounds of the numbers beep, but afterwards there is no ringing or connection. I get the same result with other numbers tried.

We are at the end of a long rural loop and previous line issues have been traced to damp connections up one of the poles. Yesterday was blustery with heavy rain so I guess this has happened again, since there have been no changes our end.

To forestall other questions, there is no mobile signal here and PlusNet doesn't support VOIP packages so we haven't yet transferred to fibre, but will do so when the building project currently going on in the house attains a stage where the point for the new incoming connection is prepared and ready.

Thanks. That's where I went originally that sent me to the phone troubleshooter that doesn't flag up the problem and so doesn't open a ticket. I've just tried selecting some different options but they still tell me the issue's with the phone, so use the troubleshooter.

That is strange. Last time I had cause to direct someone there (late last week) they were able to submit the report via that link. Unfortunately, I can't test it as I am no longer a Plusnet customer.

Looks like you will have to wait until one of the Help Team pick  this up.

I can see the fault has been raised on this @Fat_Leonard and it should be fixed within 72 hours.

Thank you - there's no dial tone at the moment either, so I guess it's progressing... Broadband still seems OK as I'm typing this on it!
