Voicemail/1471

Hi, I'm new to Plusnet phone, so excuse the question!  The dialling tone is intermittent which I think means there's a message.  Do I dial 1571 to get the message and is there a charge for this?  Will it be deleted after a certain amount of time? Also, is there a charge for the 1471 service?

Thanks.

Fix

@southken

Yes, the stuttered dial tone is indicating that you have at least one message waiting. There is no fee for dialling 1571 to retrieve the message(s). After each one, you can delete by pressing 3, store for a fixed period (can't remember how long just now) by pressing 2, or repeat the message by pressing 1.

Any messages not retrieved will just stay there until they are.

1471 is included with line rental, and is free to use.

EDIT: Note that stuttered dial tone is also used when other services are in operation eg Call Divert.

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine
