Re: Will Plusnet use EE's new Digital Home Phone to replace landline phones ?

I suspect the only way such a service would be available to current or future Plusnet  customers would be for them to migrate to EE. My view is that BT have made an error of judgment in not allowing Plusnet to provide a Digital Phone service - we will have to see if this has a bearing on Plusnet's future.

As to the comments referred to , a lot depends on the value of the Plusnet brand to BT. As soon as Plusnet has shed it's remaining legacy products and becomes a wires only full fibre only broadband provider,it becomes a lot easier to move its customer base into BT/EE.

As a former plusnet customer, and a former user of their trial Plusnet Voip product it does seem odd that plusnet are not providing voip service

Re: Will Plusnet use EE's new Digital Home Phone to replace landline phones ?

I had the Plusnet VoIP trial from 2013 through 2015, with 240 minutes of free calls included each month.

Now ten years later, just when Plusnet need to provide a VoIP solution, they failed to come up with the goods.

Same thing with the IPv6 trial, a decade later and still not delivered.

It is now six years since Plusnet removed traffic prioritisation, well guess what they'll need for customers using VoIP ?

Well I've waited long enough, and I NEED VoIP, IPv6, and traffic prioritisation, and by this time next week I'll finally have all three again when my migration to A&A completes.  After 24 years since signing up with Force9, followed by years of Plusnet dismantling what used to be one of the best ISPs,  there is literally nothing left worth staying for.

why ? It was almost certainly not profitable!  Maybe it was 'before its time' but the original home  grown version was difficult to support and then the gradwell hosted incarnation was too expensive
