[Please do NOT move this. It's definitely a Home Phone topic - as IMO are all VoIP discussions! (Until a separate VoIP button appears, that is, which I presume won't happen as PlusNet aren't so far going to offer VoIP.)]
If you've got VoIP set up, and can make outgoing calls, would you know if incoming calls had stopped working? (If so, how?)
Fixed! Go to the fix.

I'd be pretty sure the mods are going to move it... but
would you know if incoming calls had stopped working? (If so, how)
All the voip suppliers I've come across have a voicemail facility. You register an email address and if a call fails, or isnt answered it will send you an email with the details (and message if the caller leaves one)
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. So as long as you set up an email for such notifications, you would know something was amiss. Thanks again - I think that answers the question (better than I'd thought, as I was thinking how would you know if an existing landline had failed for incoming!).
I'll tick the "this answered …" box on your post.

As well as having voip set up with my router I also have an app on my mobile phone so if one happens go down the other will still ring (another bonus is you can answer calls to landline on the move).
So far VOIP has been as reliable as the landline

Also, if you set the VOIP to go straight to voicemail, you will get an email with a sound file attached.
Just call them back using your mobile.
Zero outlay for VOIP hardware.

Certainly if you're with A&A there is a call log that you can access easily as part of the account admin. It shows a lot of detail including how many rings (or how long) and duration of the actual call when/if answered by you or voicemail.
I expect most other suppliers will have similar information available.
