Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

@Matt - that worked Smiley I'm connected using 10.2.2.9. Haven't had time to do the IPv6 tunnel yet.
@taras - no wireless issues here (yet). iPhone and Android tablet connecting ok
and as MJN says. I previously had this working with HE's Tunnel Broker service.

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Me again Sad Still having issues. I've been having problems sending emails via SMTP and relay.plus.net. It appears it's somehow related to the TG582n with 10.2.2.9 and just the FTTC enabling commands. I reset back to default settings as it wasn't working with the router after I'd changed the LAN network, added static DHCP assignments and a couple of port forwarding rules. If I simply swap over from the TG582n to my old Billion router email works, swap back and it fails.
I assume other people using 10.2.2.9 are using SMTP sendmail via relay.plus.net, if not can someone else try this please? The strange thing is I can telnet to port 25 and the server answers. So why does doesn't it work via the Mail app in OSX with the TG582n?

Port 25 is blocked by PlusNet.

Not to their own SMTP server from their customers? How else are we to send emails? I thought it was only blocked inbound and you could request to have it open on your account, but that is a different issue.

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Just a quick update... All has been going well and plenty of my traffic is now IPv6 when I check on wireshark.
I've now got two tunnels running simultaneously on the router, however it seems to have increased the IPv6 ping time, I'm not sure why, the IPv4 ping time is unaffected.
I don't think there is much point to two tunnels as I can only route traffic based on destination subnet, one of them is just used for ping responding, all the other traffic goes down the other tunnel.

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

I have just had a chance to look at this.
I too have a problem with my android phone connecting to the router when I use 10.2.2.9, it connects OK with 10.2.0.B.
No joy with the ipv6 tunnel yet, I can ping IPv6 sites from the router OK, the PC gets an IPv6 address but does not ping any IPv6 sites.
Will try and investigate further over the weekend.

It's the last I've seen and I've given up with it. Frequent random reboots really don't gel well with online gaming.

What's fixed? Is there some new shiny firmware to try out that works and doesn't reset randomly?

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Matt,
thanks very much for providing such a good set of instructions - you've managed to explain a pretty complex setup in nice easy(ish) steps, with a sensible breakdown so  someone can check that each stage is working before moving onto the next.
I managed to register for a tunnel with SixXS and get a native IPv6 network up and running at home and routing to the Internet. All was well until earlier in the week when my external IP address changed, and at that point my tunnel stopped working. I logged onto SixXS and changed the tunnel endpoint to the new IP address, but its still not working.
Do I need to do anything on the router to reconfigure this? There's nothing in your instructions specific to the ADSL IP, so am slightly confused as to why its not working.
Should I really be on a fixed IP Address, and how do I request this if so?

I'm sure you can fix your IP address from the account webpages.
How long had you been running this James? I found the router would randomly reboot usually at the most inconvenient of times and gave up with it.

Re: 6in4 IPv6 Tunnel natively on Technicolor TG582n

Picnic,
thanks - have now got a static address through Plusnet. I've had this firmware on the router for about a week, and it hasnt rebooted on me as far as I can tell.
The other issue I had was the router losing these IPv6 settings when rebooting. I've now issued a 'saveall' command, which I'm assuming will save the router setup to flash. If this is the case, may be worth adding to the instructions.
