IPv6 port forwarding?

Is it possible to port forward with IPv6 using the TG582n?
Trying to get port 80 forwarded to a server, works fine for IPv4 but can't seem to figure out how it works on IPv6. Also wondering which IPv6 would be used to connect "from the internet" - would it be the router IP (::a6b1:e9ff:fe93:5730) or the server IP (::ea39:35ff:feec:eca2)?
Been on the plusnet trial for a week and all is fine so far!

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

You'll need to use the server's IP address but port forwarding isn't the problem. You need to allow the connections through the router's firewall, that's the only thing stopping it from working.
That's RPM to you!!

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

Does the TG582N even have a IPv6 firewall?
Those addresses you're posting don't seem right. Run http://test-ipv6.com/ on your server and it should tell you its IPv6 address.

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

It does indeed Andy, have an IPv6 firewall.
As for the OP's addresses, they could be correct, if they were omitting the first half of their 64 allocation.
That's RPM to you!!

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

Yes I omitted the first part
How do I configure the firewall then? Is that cli only?
Thanks for the quick replies

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

What does it say when you try to run this test from your server http://www6.ipv6.chappell-family.co.uk/cgi-bin6/ipscan-js.cgi ?
When you say you omitted the first part, did you put in an extra : ?

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

One way I've found is "firewall config state disabled" which seems to do what I want, but I don't think it's a great idea to expose every computer like that? Maybe I'm wrong
Tried the port scanner from this laptop and all come up as STLTH/UDPSTEALTH (which I assume means filtered by firewall?) Can't run on server unfortunately as it's "headless"
http://[2a02:16c8:2000:600:ea39:35ff:feec:eca2]/ - does that work for you guys?

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

Works fine here - is a TBB graph.
It could be on your laptop, there is an additional firewall - or those ports are blocked by default.

Re: IPv6 port forwarding?

Have a look at Talat's post here for details on how to poke holes through the IPv6 firewall.
